Trade requirements

The main rules to check when trading with China. This is orientation, not legal or customs advice.

Customs registration
Importers and exporters register with the General Administration of Customs (GACC).
CCC certification
Products on the China Compulsory Certification catalogue need CCC marking before sale.
Overseas food registration
Foreign manufacturers of many food products must register with GACC before exporting to China.
Commodity inspection
Certain commodities, including some metals and agricultural goods, are subject to inspection on arrival.

Logistics considerations

Discuss logistics for this route
  • Yangtze and Pearl River Delta ports handle most container trade; Qingdao and Tianjin serve the north.

  • Rail freight to Europe offers a middle option between sea and air.

  • Factory-gate supply is deep, so inspection before loading matters more than finding a supplier.

Information current as of October 2026. Regulations, duties and documentation requirements change. Confirm with the relevant authority, your customs broker or forwarder before shipment. TP4 does not claim offices or operations in China.
